| First Heard Nik : | I first heard Nik on a university radio station in Fairbanks Alaska of all places, along w/Wall of Voodoo, Echo & Bunn. etc. and then the station went VERY COMERCIAL and quit playing anything really cool. I've been hooked on Nik ever since and it,s been a very good influence on my songwriting and broadened my horizions!!! Thanx Nik! |
| Favorite Nik Song(s) : | Wouldn't It Be Good, Everything Comming Up Roses, The Riddle & colaborations with Tony Banks! |
| Favorite Nik Album(s) : | The Riddle (sorry if that is the stock answer but it was pure genius!) |
| Concerts Attended : | None of Nik's I'm very sorry to report but I have slowly made my way to many of my other favorite artists over the years between gigs and saw the full production Genesis tribute The Musical Box just this evening at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas. Brilliant Show!!! |
| I met Nik : | Would like to very much! |
| Other Favorite Artists : | Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Prince, Aimee Mann, Bryan Ferry, Talking Heads etc. |
| Personal Information : | I started playing music full time right out of highschool in 1977 (keys, perc. bass and limited vocals) and have been hooked ever since. I started singing much more in the 80,s and picked up the guitar in 92. I have toured with several shows across the US and Canada and most reciently to the UK in 2001 with the #1 Roy Orbison tribute artist in the world, Larry Branson. I sequenced all the backup orchestral bits, played keys & was the music director for the tour. we played aprox. 23 venues in England & Wales including the Birmingham Synphony Hall and the Palladium. When I'm not on the road I mostly play around northern Oregon as a full production alternative pop solo act called AVALON, featuring alot of 80's retro and some original pop/prog. rock stuff. I still find live performance and attending concerts to be the best fun and I'm also a graphic artist in a limited capacity. Note: Lots of musicians have lost their gigs to Karaoke & DJs!!! There's not near as many still actually making a living at it. Hope more people rediscover and support live music of any kind, especially people like Nik and all that great artists pour into it to become accomplished. |
